Thank you to Redemption Kid’s Ministry Workers

Thank you to Redemption Kid’s Ministry Workers

When my family first started attending Redemption back at Banting, we came from a small church where we were involved in almost everything. We were tired and ready to take a step back and just attend church for awhile. Well, this didn’t last long as we realized we weren’t getting to know anyone by just coming and going. So, Jay and I decided we needed to start doing something. Where should we start?? Kids Ministry, which was called Higher Ground at the time, seemed like a great place to get involved. We had our two kids in Kids Ministry, so we felt it was the right place to start and get to know some of the other families. I don’t remember for sure, but I believe we served in the Grade 1 and 2 class. That’s where it all began, and Jay continues to serve, but is now in the Grade 4/5 room. We had a few years where we served as a couple and I loved that, doing ministry together was such a blessing. We have a few couples that serve together now, and I love seeing them serving God in that capacity. Our kids have been blessed by the workers they have had, and some have reached deep into their hearts.  Thank you to those of you who have ministered to my kids personally, Jay and I are deeply grateful to you!

Over the years, workers have come and gone, but my prayer is that they would leave a lasting impression on the kids’ hearts and that the kids might learn more about Jesus.

We have an amazing curriculum we use called The Gospel Project, which works through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and always with a direct connection to Christ. However without our key teachers and classroom facilitators to teach, we would be lost, and without the classroom assistants and junior helpers, the facilitators would not be able to do their job.

We have so many different areas for serving and each one is just as important as the others.  We have our registration workers who are the first faces families see as they enter the check-in area. They register new families and take them to the rooms where their children will attend, help with any check-in issues, and are there for our other workers that need to have a parent called for a crying baby or an upset child. Service coordinators are the glue that holds it all together, making sure the morning runs smoothly and all workers are present and ready to go, and maybe having to move workers as needed for numbers. I am personally so appreciative of these ladies and the love and encouragement they have shown me. Without them, I would not have been able to make it through these last few months.

I am so grateful and blessed for the workers God has provided for this ministry. It is a non-stop, 52 Sundays a year ministry. The ministry is one big body with many moving parts and when you take away one of those parts, it doesn’t work. Each one of the workers is invaluable and I am so grateful for all of them.

To all the workers who serve in Redemption Kids, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! We could not do Kids Ministry without you.

So, are you serving in a ministry at our church? If not, why not? We would love to have you on our team, and as mentioned, there are many different roles available – you don’t have to change diapers! I will continue to pray and echo Paul’s prayer for the Saints at Ephesus, for those who serve in Redemption Kids:

“I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints,” (Eph 1:16-18)

Love you all and can’t wait to meet with you again soon!

Stay tuned –  next Friday, a Kids Ministry worker is going to share her heart!
