I was raised in a Christian home in Brazil. For more than 20 years I was a member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church (Salvador – Brazil) exercising leadership roles in ministries, in addition to teaching, preaching, and service in the Worship Ministry. Since 2021 I have been attending the Master of Divinity (first at Heritage Seminary and now at Tyndale University) to better prepare myself to serve in the Kingdom of God.
My wife (Gisele Ferreira) and I were married in 2004 and we have two children (Mateus and Beatriz). My wife and I are psychologists and have been teaching psychology for the last few years. I decided to interrupt a 19-year career as a university professor in Brazil to respond to God’s call on the ministry that was proposed to me. Our family arrived in Canada in 2021 and we have been involved with small groups in the church, building meaningful bonds. Redemption is a church that has embraced us since our arrival in Canada, and we are happy to be part of this community.
I joined Redemption’s ministry as an intern to promote belonging and connection for immigrants who, like me, want to serve God in this community. In addition, my family and I have a willing heart to share the gospel with Canadians and immigrants through the gifts God has given us. Redemption’s faithfulness to God’s Word has inspired us to participate in what God is doing in this community and contribute to all our efforts.
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18 – ESV)
