Elder (with wife, Claudia)

Claudia and I have been married since 2004. We have four children, Gabriel, Beatriz, Amanda, and Lucas. Since 1997 Claudia and I have been involved in many church ministries such as children, youth, young adults, and couples. I was also an elder from 2012 to 2017, in my old church in Brazil. In 2017, when we came to Canada while living in Kitchener, we started a Sunday School ministry for Portuguese speakers at Good News Church in Cambridge. In 2019, when we moved to London, we started attending RBCL and started a family group of Portuguese speakers where we teach adults and children. We love to serve Christ by serving others.

Claudia works for our private school in Brazil, and I work as a software developer for Trudell Medical, a company in London. In my youth, I felt called by God to become an elder, I had a great example in my house because my father was too an elder. Over the years, the Lord has used my father and many other leaders (pastors and elders) as well as many trials to mold me to His calling.

I am tremendously honored to serve as an elder in Redemption. I know my inabilities, I know my weaknesses, but I also know that the One who called me is powerfully able to equip me and use a broken vessel like me to bring the wonderful perfume of Christ to others. I carry in my heart and mind these verses that remind me that it’s nothing about me, and everything about the One who is to be glorified now and forever: Jesus, my Lord, and Savior.

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
