Hello, my name is Danielle. In August 2017, I had the incredible joy of being able to marry my best friend, Jacob. We live in a little apartment in London with our cat, and enjoy spending our time outdoors, watching movies, and hanging out with family and friends.
I was born and raised in a Christian home in the country just outside a little town East of Strathroy. I am the youngest of three girls; my eldest sister Melissa (who attends Redemption with her husband Jordan) and my middle sister Chelsey (who attends a church in Strathroy with her husband Mike, and our parents). I have been blessed with a family that is super close and loves spending time together, whether at the lake camping or boating, or at home watching movies.
After graduating from highschool in Strathroy, I decided to go and do a YWAM program in Oliver, BC. After spending three months in BC at school, a group of us went to India for six weeks on a mission trip. Both my time at school in BC and my mission trip in India were life-changing experiences that made me see my faith, and my life, on a whole new level. Upon returning to Ontario, I did a year of the ECE (Early Childhood Education) program at Fanshawe College, before deciding it wasn’t for me.
When I got home from BC, I started looking for a church that would push me and grow me in my faith. My sister Melissa invited me out to Redemption one Sunday, and I fell in love with the teaching, the worship, and the people! The following summer, Jon Sodeman asked me to be his youth intern for the summer, which got me more involved at Redemption by meeting many new people and learning the ropes around the church. To my complete surprise and God’s complete sovereignty, this summer internship led to my now full-time job at Redemption working in the office.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” ~James 1:2-5
